New Student Orientations

Kindergarten Orientation

This orientation is typically held a few days to a week before school begins.  Check the Calendar for Orientation Dates. Parents and students meet the school principal, kindergarten teachers, and other school staff members. There are fun activities for children and an opportunity for parents to ask questions about the school. Kindergarten orientation is primarily an opportunity to help children to look forward to coming to school in September and to begin to build an important partnership between home and school. Kindergarten orientation is designed to help parents enroll their children, including the completion of health forms, and to assist students in becoming acquainted with future friends and the school environment.

New Family Orientation (for Transfer Students in Grades 1-6)

This brief orientation is held the first day of school in the Library.  The principal gives an overview of life at Dahlia Heights, policies, and welcomes questions from the families.

Sixth Grade Orientation

This important informational meeting is held a few days to a week before school each year. This meeting covers events and activities related to Sixth Grade, including fundraising for the fun and educational Sixth Grade Trip to Catalina Island that takes place in late May each year.
